Yorkshire is full of fun and entertainment for the whole family and is a great place to make the most of that all-important time together in the school holidays. As the next school holidays are just around the corner, we thought we'd have a round up of our top five places in Yorkshire to take the kids this October Half-Term.

1. Get up close to birds of prey in Helmsley

A fantastic day out situated at the magnificent Duncombe Park estate in the North York Moors National Park. Watch these   spectacular birds take to the skies in flying demonstrations, complete the stamp trail and explore the surrounding parkland.

2. Live life adventurously at Dalby Forest

With 2 huge play areas, a Zog Activity Trail, Go Ape tree top adventure and segways, 6 cycling trails and bike hire, numerous walking trails and a cafe, there's something to keep the whole family entertained here on the North York Moors.

3. Hunt for fairies at Northwood Trail

Explore the trail through this magical woodland fairy sanctuary near York and discover fairy houses, toadstools, extraordinary artefacts and treasures in the Fairy Museum. Afterwards, Northwood Kitchen is a unique eatery under the trees where you can enjoy delicious treats.

4. Enjoy ghoulish activities on the Moors

There's plenty going on at The Moors National Park Centre in Danby over half-term, with a Ghostly Treasure Hunt, Springy Spiders and Rotten Witches events and lots of Halloween Crafts. Plus a fantastic indoor and outdoor play areas and interactive exhibitions.

5. Join the spooky goings on down on the farm

At Hesketh Farm Park near Bolton Abbey in the Yorkshire Dales, half-term is always a fun week with spooky activities from pumpkin carving to Halloween quizzes and the transformation of one of the animal barns into a Halloween Grotto.
