The beautifully decorated lounge has windows on opposite sides, letting plenty of light in, along with a cosy wood burner to keep you toasty. After a relaxing evening, head to the king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom or the twin room with an en-suite shower room for a great night’s sleep. If you’re blessed with good weather, head outside to the lovely, enclosed garden where there’s a lawn that children and pets will love. The patio area has furniture so you can dine alfresco.

You’ll have a pub and shop within 2 miles, and plenty more amenities in Ripon, a cathedral town with plenty of cafes and restaurants for meals out. When it’s time for some rural exploration, head east to the Howardian Hills (16 miles) or west to Nidderdale – both areas have mile upon mile of stunning countryside for you to explore. Harrogate is also wonderful for a day out, with its exquisite Turkish baths and iconic tea rooms.

Fig Cottage is an amazing place to stay. Great location, lovely and quiet but so easy to get to places, the A 1 is literally minutes away. It was beautifully clean and had everything you could need. Cosy is how I would describe this cottage. The cottage is located in a beautiful village and everyone we came across was so friendly. We stayed here for 2 weeks whilst we completed on the purchase of our home, which was a shame as we would love to have stayed here again. This is our second stay at Fig Tree Cottage and as before we really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very well equipped with very comfortable beds. The surrounding area is well provided with places worth visiting within easy reach and the village has got a rather nice walk down a country lane. Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage, in an ideal spot to explore the Yorkshire Dales. We stayed with our 2 teenage girls and 2 greyhounds, and they all enjoyed the cottage. The cottage was very clean and very well appointed. We were fortunate to stay during the hot weather, and the owners provided fans to ensure our stay was comfortable during the heatwave.
