This traditional stone-built cottage makes a delightful holiday home for couples, solo travellers and small families enjoying a peaceful break in the heart of North Yorkshire. With the breathtaking North York Moors to the east and the stunning Yorkshire Dales to the west, the property is a fabulous base for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers exploring the region’s quaint villages, beautiful woodlands and stark moorlands. Offering cosy accommodation for up to three guests, this charming retreat is full of characteristic touches, with a warming wood burner, exposed timber beams and a courtyard garden.
Leaving coats and walking boots in the inviting porch, head through into the cheery lounge/diner. With a welcoming wood burner, comfortable seating and exposed beams, the lounge is an ideal space to sit back and chat about the day’s events across the Dales. There’s a lovely dining table over by the window, perfect for sharing favourite meals which you can cook in the light-filled and fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs, you will find a soothing family bathroom and two cheerfully decorated bedrooms: a cosy single and a relaxing double, each with ample storage space. Stepping outside, the pretty courtyard garden is reached via a shared path – please keep pets on leads – and features a decked area with plenty of outdoor furniture so you can sit back and enjoy a drink in the evening.
The cottage lies in the quiet village of Patrick Brompton, with the friendly market town of Bedale to the south-east (4 miles). Bedale has a choice of great pubs and restaurants, and is home to a golf club and the popular Big Sheep and Little Cow Farm. The area has a wealth of fantastic attractions including The Forbidden Corner, Thorp Perrow, Harmby Waterfall, Jervaulx Abbey and the remains of Middleham Castle, all within 11 miles.
