Whitby has an excellent selection of shops, restaurants and bars however you don't need to leave Grosmont to pick up your essentials, the village's local co-op shop is the oldest of it's kind still serving today and specialises in selling local Yorkshire produce and groceries. There's also a variety of independent shops where you can pick up a souvenir or gift and even an art gallery where you can admire the work of local Yorkshire artists such as Robert Brindley and Ailsa Nichilson.
