This lovely cottage which takes its name from the woodpecker, who visits almost daily, is perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing holiday surrounded by gardens and woodland. Located within the North York Moors National Park and on the edge of the popular moorland village of Hutton-le-Hole, this is a fantastic location for walkers, cyclists and wildlife enthusiasts. Footpaths and bridleways link the property to the nearby villages of Appleton-le-Moors and Gillamoor and the market town of Kirkbymoorside. The village is full of character and charm, with the freely grazing sheep and trickling beck providing a sense of peace and tranquillity.

This delightful property is full of character with exposed beams and stonework, a high vaulted ceiling, and all the contemporary creature comforts that ensure a memorable stay. On the ground floor is a neat kitchen with all the appliances you need to create romantic dinners from fresh local ingredients you can buy at the local markets. There are six steps up to the cosy lounge with a sofa to snuggle on and a TV for evening entertainment. A further six steps lead up to a super-king-size bedroom. A shower room completes the offer in this cosy cottage. Outside is a garden area with a table and chairs making this a perfect spot to enjoy a morning brew or dine alfresco while taking in the views and watching out for the woodpecker!

The cottage is an ideal base for exploring the stunning North York Moors National Park. North Riding Forest Park (16.5 miles), National Trust Bridestones Crosscliff and Blakey Topping (19 miles) offer opportunities for walking and cycling. Head to the market town of Pickering (9 miles) to catch the North York Moors Railway and enjoy a ride through the beautiful moorland to the coast. Alternatively, discover the history behind Rievaulx Abbey (12.5 miles) or head north to Danby Beacon (16 miles) and enjoy the spectacular views.

Woodpecker Cottage is a perfect location for two people looking to spend time exploring North Yorkshire. It is comfortable and quiet bet perhaps a little isolated from the nearest village of Hutton-le-Hole.
