Description

On the same spacious site as the owner's house, in the centre of the popular but peaceful village of Newton on Rawcliffe, this cottage enjoys a quiet and relaxing location with shared leisure suite, grounds, gardens, sitting out areas with furniture. DIY livery is available at a small charge for those wanting to bring their horse on holiday between May and September.

The cottage has been fully renovated whilst retaining its character and charm.  It is very comfortably furnished to a high standard and has a modern kitchen.  It provides cosy, warm and well equipped accommodation where home comforts should not be missed.

The village itself - with a children's play area - is surrounded by open countryside and there are some spectacular views nearby with walks to Newtondale, Cropton Forest and the Moors beyond.  A 'must' for the nostalgic and young alike, the North York Moors Steam Railway runs from Pickering, 4 miles away, to Grosmont,  On its way it passes through Levisham Station (below Newton) and on through ITV's Heartbeat countryside to its final destination.  Whitby, Scarborough and York are all easily accessible from here making this an ideal base from which to explore the varied delights of the surrounding area.

Bedroom 1: Double  bed.
Bedroom 2: One single bed which can be adapted to a twin (supplemental charge payable).
Bathroom: Spacious bathroom with corner bath, towel warmer, toilet,washbasin and separate shower cubicle.

Notes: Towels are provided. Unlimited WiFi is available free of charge. Mobile phone signal is variable. No smoking at this property. (Granary is on the 1st floor above Owl - extensive views - access being via external stone steps with hand rail).  Please note that this cottage is not regarded as suitable for children under the age of 10. Access to shared laundry room with coin operated washing machines and tumble dryer.

Shared Leisure Suite Available from 9 am - 9 pm and located in a converted Low Barn (exposed beams and open wooden roof void) with adjoining double-glazed conservatory facing South. The Suite comprises an indoor heated swimming pool with counter-current unit (providing aerated water massage whilst permitting swimming 'on the spot'), Spa and Sauna. Stereo radio and full changing, shower and toilet facilities accessible to wheelchair users (no hoist). Electricity for the sauna is not included in the rent. It should be noted that the pool is not regarded as suitable for younger children or non swimmers since it has no shallow end but is 1.2 metres deep throughout, and that children and non swimmers must be supervised at all times.
