Take some well-deserved time away by the seaside with your family or group of friends plus one canine companion in this charming cottage with original features like a wooden beamed ceiling, wooden furnishings, a sociable open-plan living area plus a grassy garden. Enjoy relaxing afternoons on the sandy beach, discover the traditional seaside attractions and explore the local historical landmarks.

Climb 12 steps to reach the entrance of the property and step inside to find a cosy lounge/diner with neutral tones, a beamed ceiling, a dining table, coal effect glass fire and plump seating to enjoy quality time with your loved ones. Continue into the homely kitchen and prepare a special meal for your guests on the ‘L’-shaped fitted unit with wooden cupboards with a splash of colour in the tiling. There is also a family bathroom on the ground floor. Another bathroom plus two bedrooms are on the lower ground floor and first floor – consisting of a double, bunk bedroom, double room plus a triple room made up of three single beds. Outside is a garden which is shared with neighbouring properties.

During your stay on the east of the River Esk in Whitby, you’ll be within 0.5 miles of an array of eateries, cafes and quirky shops. Less than 0.5 miles away are the cobbled streets of Whitby’s old town where you’ll find the 199 Steps which lead to Whitby Abbey (0.5 miles). Cross the river and head to the sandy, dog-friendly Whitby Beach (0.5 miles). From here you can walk for 2.5 miles along the shore to Sansend Beach. Visit the Whalebone Arch (0.5 miles) and venture further afield into the surrounding North York Moors National Park – where you’ll find the secluded Kettlenss Beach (6.5 miles) and Little Beck Wood nature reserve (5.5 miles).

Great location, easy access to the property and just a short stroll to the centre of town The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. This was our 2nd stay at the cottage and was not disappointed.
