Such a lovely stay for me and my two friends. We had a lovely welcome and a nice relaxed weekend away together. I will definitely be returning.

Miss Francesca C,

Absolutely brilliant, loved this property.

Mr Charles W,

Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated/furnished.

Ms Louise B,

We loved the barn as it had everything we needed.

Amanda H,

Couldn’t have been better equipped, with very high quality fittings. Hot tub a real luxury bonus!

Mr Derek J,

It was absolutely amazing we loved it! Thank you!

J M,

Despite being there during the full force of The Beast From The East, we were warm and very comfortable in the cottage. Very high standard of fixtures and fittings, super bathrooms and we'll equipped.

Peter H,

Area Information

Cowbar is a picturesque hamlet tucked under the Cliff Nab connected with the village of Staithes by a footbridge. It is popular with artists, photographers and birdwatchers. Cowbar is an ideal base to explore the beautiful Yorkshire Coast and Moors.

The neighbouring village of Staithes is a pretty, traditional fishing village with bundles of charm located 10 miles north of Whitby and offers an idyllic location for holidaymakers visiting the seaside. The village boasts some of the narrowest cobbled streets in the north and is connected with ginnels, nooks and winding streets. There is plenty to see and do with pubs, cafes, shops, art galleries and a fish smokehouse. The village hosts real ale and jazz festivals during the year and the September Arts Festival is becoming a very popular event which attracts many visitors. For those fancying taking to the waters there are regular boat trips to Whitby from Staithes. There are many walks around the area along the cliff tops and through to Whitby, it is an ideal location for any holidaymaker.
