Property code: OC-WA042

Gather your family and set out on a memorable holiday in this three-bedroom barn conversion. One of four on-site properties which sit next to the owner’s home, it comfortably sleeps six guests and is surrounded by beautiful open countryside. Inside, it is brimming with character, boasting exposed wooden beams, a cosy wood burner and homely furnishings. And best of all, it enjoys the shared use of a games room and a 4-acre paddock – the owner can even arrange Tai Chi lessons, guided walks and special dinners.

Head straight for the heart of the home, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room. Here, a variety of seating surrounds a Smart TV so you can settle in for a family film night in the warm glow of the wood burner. Or you can pull up a chair at the dining table and enjoy sociable meals, prepared and cooked in the well-equipped kitchen space. Completing the ground floor is the first of the property’s stylishly furnished bedrooms, a double with an en-suite wet room, and a door to the patio. Upstairs are the remaining two bedrooms, a super-king-size with an en-suite bathroom, and a twin room with an en-suite shower room. Sunny days are best spent lounging on the seating in the pretty patio garden, or you can explore the owner’s 4-acre paddock and get competitive in the shared games room.

More adventures can be found nearby, with the picture-postcard fishing village of Staithes only 1.5 miles from the front door. Lining its winding cobbled streets are a myriad of pubs, cafes, independent shops, art galleries, and a fish smokehouse. Take advantage of the abundant local walking and cycling trails or jump aboard one of the boat trips to Whitby (11.5 miles) where you can admire the iconic ruins of its abbey or delight in a dip in the sea on its long, sandy beach.

We had a wonderful stay. We were met on arrival by Nicky who showed us round, provided very useful information on the area and was so welcoming. Every detail in the cottage was as described and we couldnt have asked for more. A very comfortable stay.

I reserved the cottage over the phone with you and you said that you would get back to me to confirm once the owner had confirmed the price. I didnt hear anything back from you and when I called in to the Whitby offices the booking had been cancelled and I was told that it was because I didnt want the cottage. This was simply untrue. I also booked Read morefor 2 dogs but they were not showing on the booking so I had to amend the booking. Hide
