Ugglebarnby is a pretty village four miles from Whitby and lying within the pretty Esk Valley. The nearest pubs are in the larger village of Sleights, just under a mile away, where you will also find a bakery, butchers, general store and fish & chip restaurant. In Ruswarp, two miles further down the valley you can hire boats on the river and enjoy a trip on a miniature railway.
The historic port of Whitby has a wealth of attractions to entertain everyone in the family, from a visit to Whitby Abbey to the fun of the Dracula Experience. There is also a good range of shops and supermarkets so you can be sure of picking up whatever you need for your holiday. In the Old Town you will find individual boutiques and gift shops, including some that specialise in jet jewellery which Whitby was famous for in Victorian times.
