The heart of this sociable house is its impressive kitchen/diner on the ground floor. Equipped with a central island, a range cooker, underfloor heating and a Google home speaker, mealtimes are always a joy here. Both work and play can take place in the snug, a ground floor room with games consoles and a desk setup, whilst the lounge with a wood burner, Smart TV and plenty of cushy seating is also located downstairs. Pass a handy utility room and cloakroom with a WC as you make your way up to the first floor. All three bedrooms upstairs are laid out with zip-and-link beds for exceptional versatility and are served by one en-suite and a family bathroom.

Just moments from the banks of the River Swale, you can easily embark on a long riverside walk to explore the local area. Lace up your walking boots to admire the Old Gang Smelting Mill (4 miles), a historic mining complex with fascinating ruins, or take a trip up to Keld (6 miles) to discover stunning Wain Wath Force and Kidson Force waterfalls (both less than 7 miles).

Fantastic home in a great location. Excellent walks from the door. We loved our walk to Reeth via the Swaledale Trail with coffee and cake at the cafe at the bike shop just outside Reeth. We hope to return as we all loved it here. Its a lovely house in a great location with a high standard of furnishings and decor. The layout of the house worked peRead morerfectly for us. First and foremost, this was a lovely holiday cottage and we really enjpyed our time there. Second, things do come up from time to time, whether you are home or traveling. A great week in teh Dales. Trips to Hawes, Whitby, Richmond, Askrigg. Superb meals at the Punch Bowl in Low Row and Kings Head, Gunnerside. We loved the spacious house, very comfortable, friendly pheasant too!

What a fabulous week - sunshine every day and a fantastic cottage! Wonderful walks. Went to Buttertubs pass and M rode it on his bike! (Was on Tour de France route). Walked into Gunnerside to the Kings Head for a nice meal - good pub grub!)

When booking cottage it stated online that it was dog friendly and dog was allowed anywhere down stairs.When we got there we found a notice on the wall telling us our dog was to be kept to the kitchen.As the week went on the dog was getting more and more stressed so decided on Thursday we would come as our dog was getting more and more stressed.If Read morewe had known he was going to be confined to the kitchen we would not have booked this cottage. Strands View is a very pleasant house in a wonderful location. The house offers solid Yorkshire comfort. The views from the garden are stunning and there is great outdoor seating. Swaledale is glorious and very unspoilt - a great destination for walkers and hardy cyclists!

This was our second visit and its probably the favourite of all the holiday cottages weve stayed in over the years. Just one issue is the hot water and Ill speak to your office when back at work tomorrow.
