The lavishly furnished cottage has a delightful secluded courtyard garden, which is set on two tiers, also boasts a lovely patio for al fresco dining and a recently constructed summerhouse where you can soak up the sunshine on your break.

Gallowa's Cottage was an excellent retreat for our family and pet. It has everything you need and the town of Middleham offers plenty to do by just stepping out the door. The property is ideally located for exploring the North Yorkshire Dales.

Gallowa's Cottage was excellent, first class in every aspect and Middleham village was charming, interesting and historic with the added bonus that the racehorses passed our windows regularly and the castle was fascinating. I would strongly recommend.

This was a superb property - in over 35 years of holidays and booking properties all over the country, it is by far and away the best we’ve ever stayed in. It was superbly equipped and had everything we needed. We wish we could have stayed longer, but I have no doubt that we will return for a family holiday again.

“The photos don’t do the beautiful cottage justice. A perfect place to stay near the Yorkshire Dales. A minutes walk to Middleham centre where there are great pubs and places to eat. The cottage is very clean and full of everything you need. Very comfy beds and pillows. Beautiful garden for eating outdoors. Thank you for a great week. ”

Absolutely delightful place to stay and plenty of room especially for 4 teenagers and 2 dogs, beautifully decorated and well equipped for large parties, our welcome pack was wonderful after a long drive. Middleham has a lot to offer as do the surrounding towns without having to trek to far. A trek up Pen Hill is highly recommended with great views, Castle Bolton is well worth a visit as is Aysgarth Falls. Forbidden Corner and Middleham Castle are great for a day out locally

The Kings

A really great place to stay. Enjoyed it immensely.

We have had a fabulous week at Gallowa's Cottage! The kids loved the den upstairs with the secret cupboard - great for playing hide and seek. We have enjoyed several barbecues throughout the week in the garden - listening to the church bells - such a relaxing environment. The dogs really appreciated the doggy treats - thank you! And the fruit cake - amazing! So much to do around here - Forbidden Corner, Catterick Races, Hawes, Aysgarth Falls, Brimham Rocks. We have done so much in the four days we were here. We hope to be back!

We've had a lovely family holiday - some travelling from Northumberland and some from Manchester. We have all enjoyed staying in this lovely, well appointed cottage. Even Luna the puppy has had a great time. We all enjoyed the beautiful gardens too and were able to sit out in them. Thanks for all you do to make this such a great cottage to stay in.

Coming in through the door was a welcoming and warm beautiful appointed cottage, absolutely super clean ( when we arrived ) and a wonderful hamper to great us too. Plenty of room for the 6 of us, inviting cosy tranquil bedrooms were 6* plus, the bathrobes were a pleasant surprise and most welcome. Every thought had been given to the guests from the kitchen, the outdoor garden, the garden room and the welcome open fire ready made up fro our arrival. The best cottage we have stayed in, ever.

We have had a most wonderful stay in this well equipped beautiful home. We can add nothing but positive comments: wonderful comfy beds, warm and cosy, extremely well kitted out, every home touch thought of. We were able to catch up with family who live locally, had five days of fab walking, taking in both Coverdale and Swaledale without using the car once! Thank you for all the little touches too, the welcome back, the bath robes, the fire set ready to go.

The Davison family and Rosie the Lab

We have just had a perfect weekend in a beautiful and very well equipped cottage. Everything has been thought of, and we could not find fault with anything. Thank you for the welcome pack - the cake was delicious and the dog treats were appreciated by our dog 'Rhino'. Can recommend the food at both Richard third and the Black Swan. The Blue Lion at East Witton is also worth a visit. Sad to be leaving but we will return very soon. Many thanks

Darren, Dawn, Russell, Benji. Sylvia and Rhino

Thank you so much for the thoughtful touches you left for our stay at Gallowa’s Cottage, we’ve had an absolutely wonderful break, if we could stay longer we’d love to and we will definitely be back.

Heather Bamford

We absolutely loved Gallowa's Cottage! With our extended stay for several weeks we felt very comfortable and at home. The cottage was immaculate and the homemade goodies were so kind and thoughtful, even candy for my son! The beds were divine and we slept for later than we should have on several occasions because we were so comfy and cosy. The kitchen was very well equipped and we loved to watch the horses passing by every day...something we will really miss. Thank you for everything Jane and Jeremy. We would love to return one day.

Melanie and family

Good morning, Jane and Jeremy! I’d like to thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home - it’s a real home from home. I’m sure we’ll have a wonderful week staying here whilst enjoying the plethora of places to visit! It’s a jewel of a place and I’m so glad we found it. We’ll take very good care of what has clearly been created with lots of love. Teresa (Steve McPhee’s partner)
