Area Information
Reeth
Reeth is a village in the Yorkshire Dales at the meeting point of the two most northerly of the Yorkshire Dales, Swaledale and Arkengarthdale. Its located just 11 miles from the popular market town of Richmond. The village is famous for its tradition of hand-knitting and the Swaledale Museum on the green is a treasure trove of trinkets and information on the local area. There's great options for dining in the village, from The Burgoyne Hotel at the top of the village green to traditional offerings at The Buck Hotel. The village is a great base from which to take part in some exhilarating outdoor activities such as pot-holing, hiking or biking and the early summer Reeth hosts the annual Swaledale Festival, a fortnight of live music, arts and guided walks.
There's always something happening in the area, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. For more information on Reeth and the surrounding area and local events see our Yorkshire Dales Guide and the Festivals & Events Guide.
